Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this quick sketch, Nandalal has rendered a woman and a man sitting and cooking, executed in fluid, fine strokes of pencil, suggesting the modelling of the form. There is also another sketch of a woman seen in the left side.
