Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted a woman carrying a pots on her waist, head and hand. The artist has rendered the figure with fine, fluid strokes of the pen and ink, suggests the modelling of the body and highlighting the facial features of the figure.
