This painting belongs to a series of monochromatic ink and watercolour paintings inspired by the Sumi-e Japanese technique the artist employed in the last phase of his life. The subject here being 'Wild Animals' executed from his memory and experiences. These compositions were stripped to the bare minimum where only a few strokes of paint were employed to create natural forms in an effortless approach. This painting was purchased from collection of Shri Biswaroop Bose and Smt. Nivedita Bose.
