Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the above sketch the artist has delineated an decorated horse in movement with two men probably warriors. The composition is rendered with bold, linear ink strokes articulating the contours and suggesting the demeanour of the forms.
