This painting belongs to a series of monochromatic ink and watercolour paintings inspired by the Sumi-e Japanese technique the artist employed in the last phase of his life. The subject here being 'The Clouds/ The Winds' executed from his memory and experiences. The collection of his works in NGMA has several of these paintings, where the artist has depicted a cloudy sky, rendered in soft curled brush strokes. This painting was purchased from collection of Shri Biswaroop Bose and Smt. Nivedita Bose, children of Nandalal Bose.
