This painting belongs to a series of monochromatic ink and watercolour paintings inspired by the Sumi-e Japanese technique the artist employed in the last phase of his life. The subject here being 'Mountain' executed from his memory and experiences. Nandalal painted the composition in an effortless manner, using a swift brush stroke to create the natural form of the mountain. This painting was purchased from the collection of Shri Biswaroop Bose and Smt. Nivedita Bose.
