×
This painting belongs to a series of monochromatic ink and watercolour paintings inspired by the Sumi-e Japanese technique the artist employed in the last phase of his life. The subject here being 'Hills' executed from his memory and experiences. The composition here, rendered in a childlike playfulness, depicts a triangular steep hill, cut by a range of small hills in the background with a few parallel brush stokes on the top, giving a suggestion of wind. This painting was purchased from collection of Shri Biswaroop Bose and Smt. Nivedita Bose, children of Nandalal Bose.
