Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this postcard, he has depicted a sketch of a rickshaw which has to be loaded with the luggage kept next to it and a man has been shown pulling it up from its back. Executed in fluid, bold strokes of ink, suggesting the modelling of the forms.
