×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscape, figure drawings and animals. In this postcard, he has studied two types of stylised bettle nut cutter, which are fashioned in the shape of a female figure with a child. This has been rendered in fluid yet firm, bold lines of pen and ink, emphasising on its structure and liveliness.
