Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted a man using his full strength while ploughing the field with the help of two bulls. This has been executed in fluid, bold strokes of ink, suggesting the modelling of the forms and capturing a movement.
