Volume No. 84(c) : Picture Post Card 11330 Nandalal Bose Pen & Ink on postcard

Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted a woman draped in a saree and embraces her infant on her lap, sitting in the veranda. This has been executed in thick, bold strokes of ink, suggesting the modelling of the figure and fluid, rhythmic lines, adds grace to the folds of her drape.
