Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted two men engaged in the process of threshing of crops in the field. This has been executed in fluid, fine strokes of ink delineating the forms and resulting in the realistic representation of a scene.
