Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment in the representation of its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of his figures. In the sketch above, he has depicted a woman brooming the leaves around a tree in the foreground. The sketch has been executed in fluid, fine strokes of the pencil that delineate the contours of the form, adding rhythm and dynamism to the composition.
