Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. The above decorative panel inspired by folk and tribal art of India, by the artist depicts a tiger surrounded with diagonal lines. The composition is rendered with linear, firm yet fluid pencil strokes articulating the design and adding vigour to the composition.
