Sketch from Drawing Book No. 3 9610 Nandalal Bose Pencil on paper

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings and animals. Often the sketches were small in scale although invigorating with the rich detailing of the artist's observations. This sketch by Nandalal is one such study of a Dragon Fly. Besides a detailed drawing of the insect, he has also scribbled notes about its anatomy, such as structure and colour.
