Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. Here in this postcard sketch, he has depicted a group of people rendered in loose, brisk pencil strokes that suggest the corporeality of the forms and add vitality to the composition.
