Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the sketch above, he has divided a postcard into three sections and made three sketches on it. Each sketch is the magnified rendition of its left-adjacent sketch. Here he has studied a verdant landscape in detail, with trees, shrubbery and small grasses in different manner.
