Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment in the representation of its varying forms. The above study sketch, by the artist depicts a girl sitting on the floor, rendered with soft, fluid pencil strokes delineating the basic contours and suggesting the demeanour of the subject, sparing much detail.
