Nandalal practised sketching devotionally every day. He observed flowers and trees, animals, landscapes and architecture, taking notes on the visual panorama and reproducing them on paper. In this particular sketch, he has depicted a vast rural landscape with a group of people sitting siting inside an open hut in quick, scribbled strokes of the pencil.
