Nandalal understood the importance of studying and perfecting the basic form. He observed flowers, trees, animals, landscapes and architecture, taking notes on the visual panorama and reproduced them on paper. In this particular sketch, Nandalal has depicted tall palm trees with dogs wandering below them, in quick, loose strokes of watercolour.
