    Nandalal Bose

Sketch from Drawing Book No. 22 9874 Nandalal Bose Watercolor on Paper

In this postcard, Nandalal has depicted an animal, during his visit to the Bagh Caves as the inscription suggests. He has applied just a few dabs and dashes of ink to indicate the presence of the animal in the vast expanse of a forest. The artist learned this technique of the adept use of inherent white space with tonal variations of a single black ink from Far-Eastern painting traditions.
