Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of his figures. In this postcard sketch, he has made a life sketch of a man sitting on a bench with his belongings. He has employed the combined tonal variations of pencil and textural properties of charcoal to suggest the modelling of the form.
