Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment in the representation of its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of his figures. In the above postcard sketch, he has depicted a village scene with a bullock and a cart in the foreground and huts in the background, executed with a range of pencil strokes that bring out the corporeality of the forms.
