This particular sketch executed with quick strokes is one of many examples of Nandalal's acute observation of his surroundings. He has depicted a Palki (a box-like vehicle carried on shoulders by men) carried by four men, swiftly rendered in loose pencil strokes that suggest the corporeality of the forms and add life and vitality to the composition.
