    Nandalal Bose

Sketch from Drawing Book No. 27 9930 Nandalal Bose Pencil on paper

This particular sketch executed with quick strokes is one of many examples of Nandalal's acute observation of his surroundings. He has depicted a poor village family, as a decrepit woman sitting with children and the plaintive expressions are reflected from their faces, swiftly executed in linear strokes of pencil that lend a perceptible representation of deprived villagers.
