NaNandalal's exploration of delineating a line in different ways allowed him to experiment with its various forms, adding rhythm and life to his depictions. In this last sketch of a series of three sketches of dogs in the album, he studies a sleeping dog, rendered in strong and stiff outlines, defining the contours of its body. The slight shading employing loose strokes add depth and volume to the form.
