In this sketch Nandalal studies the head of a goat in profile, quickly executed in strong, brisk strokes. As per the inscription, the drawing has been sketched at Patisar, a village in present-day Bangladesh, where the Tagore family's zamindari was headquartered. As Dinkar Kowshik in his article 'Drawings and Sketches of Nandalal' in the book, 'Nandalal Bose- A Collection of Essays' elucidates, "Much of his (Nandalal's) strength and sensitive wealth finds expression in the spontaneity of his sketches."
