In this fourth sketch of a series of six sketches of monkeys in the album, Nandalal studies the head of a monkey in profile. The fine calligraphic strokes and slight shading bring out the underlying anger visible in its expression. He also studies the eyes and hand of the monkey in different templates rendered in swift, short strokes, adding life to the form.
