In this fifth sketch of a series of six sketches of monkeys in the album, Nandalal depicts a monkey sitting on the ground, sketched in profile. The fluid outlines define the contours of the figure and long, loose strokes depict its hairy body. Nandalal also studies the head of a monkey in a smaller template on the side.
