In this fifth sketch of a series of seven sketches of birds in the album, Nandalal depicts a flock of Rufous Treepie bird, on the banks of a water body. He renders the subject in swift brushstrokes, without outlines. The dabs and dashes of watercolour bring out the form of the birds, adding rhythm and life to the entire sketch.
