Nandalal's small sketches vastly vary in detailing, some drawn quickly with just a few lines, others executed with more elaborate characteristics from an analytical perspective. In this third sketch of a series of eleven sketches of roosters and hens in the album, Nandalal depicts a rooster, a quick line drawing rendered in swift, effortless strokes. He closely studies the the wattle of the rooster in a smaller template on the side.
