Sketching and drawing were an integral part of Nandalal's daily activities and everything provided subject matter for the indefatigable artist. In this second sketch of a series of eleven sketches of aquatic life in the album, sketched at Rajmahal in Jharkhand, Nandalal depicts an eel, rendered in deep contouring lines. The light shading accentuates its texture and lends body to the robust form.
