In this fourth sketch of a series of eleven sketches of aquatic life in the album, sketched at Rajmahal in Jharkhand, Nandalal depicts a catfish. He renders the fish in wiry lines, defining the structure of its body, sparing much detail. In a smaller template, he has also sketched the fish from the top.
