Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of the figure. The above sketch depicts the portrait of a man, the contours of his face have been delineated strongly, while the rest of the figure has been rendered in swift, short strokes.
