Sketch Book No. 5 10404 Nandalal Bose Pencil on paper

×
Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the forms of the figures. He has here sketched the figure of a woman, probably dressed in a robe, holding a tray. A fine faded line delineates the contour of the figure with smudged strokes, suggesting the modelling of the body and the facial features which have been rendered in an impressionistic manner.
