Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of the figure. Here, he has sketched the figure of a woman, dressed in a robe and holding a tray. The depiction is influenced from the arts of the Far East. The uniformly fine lines suggest the modelling of the body and the facial features, adding grace to the feminine form.
