Nandalal has here sketched part of a hilly range, rendered in a minimalist fashion with few lines and smudged strokes, adding rhythm to the forms. The light shading lends depth to the hillocks. As per the inscription, on his way to the Bagh caves, Nandalal's tent was erected on this particular hill with a village settlement on the eastern side of the tent.
