Nandalal has here sketched a landscape, rendered with minimum lines, delineating to an illustrative manner. The gradation of light and dark strokes make up a great play of chiaroscuro. As per the inscription, written by Mukul Dey, (a student of Nandalal) the cross mark in the drawing probably denotes the place where Nandalal's mother's cremation took place.
