Nandalal has here sketched a grocery shop opposite the house of artist Upendra Maharathi, a student of his, in Mayapur, West Bengal. He has reproduced the scene teeming with people in fine, sharp outlines. The minute detailing on the bamboo roof and leaves of the trees is a subtle touch by the artist.
