Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the above sketch the artist has depicted two men standing under an umbrella. The illustration is rendered with fine, firm yet fluid pencil strokes executing the forms and adding vigour in the composition.
