This is another one of Nandalal's quickly executed sketches. Characterised by their loose strokes and outlines, their purpose is to serve as an exploration of forms at their most basic. Stripping it of superfluous detail, only the bare minimum remains. This particular sketch depicts an earthen pot the artist came across at the Ajanta caves in Ayrangabad, Maharashtra.
