Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of his figures. He has here rendered the sketch of a man sitting on the floor, wrapped in a blanket. The fluid handling of the line suggests the modelling of the body and the smudged pencil strokes highlight the facial features of the figure.
