Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of his figures. In this sketch he has used fine strokes, outlines and shading to achieve the detailed study of a charpai. He has also studied the leg of the charpai in detail from different angle in a template sketch on the side.
