Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted a group of villagers walking along a path, rendered with fluid, fine lines of pen and ink delineating the contours of the figures and suggesting demeanor of the subject.
