In this postcard, Nandalal sketches a mythical bird with a parrot beak, a swan-like neck and the body of a hen. Reproduced probably from a book, the depiction is from the ceiling paintings of cave 1 of the Ajanta caves, as per the inscription. It is rendered in thick and flowing outlines, defining the contours of the form.
