In this postcard, Nandalal sketches a small blooming flower, a swan and a lotus blossom, from the book 'Guide to Ajanta Frescoes', by Ghulam Yazdani, published in 1935. He renders the flowers in delicate sweeping lines, studying carefully the petals in bloom. The stout swan is represented in thick outlines, defining only the contours of its body.
