In this postcard, Nandalal sketches a duck, rendered in delicate sweeping lines and light shading, defining the contours of the graceful from. As per the inscription, this drawing is a reproduction from 'Anvar-i Suhaili', a Persian translation by Vaiz Kashifi of 'Kalilah-wa-Dimnah', the Arabic version of the Panchtantra stories. This richly illustrated manuscript was commissioned by Emperor Akbar and was later translated into English as , 'The Lights of Canopus' in 1854.
