In this postcard, Nandalal sketches two ornamental sculptures of birds from South India, rendered in dark and solid lines, defining the contours of the decorative metal works. As per the inscription, this drawing has been reproduced from the book, 'Illustrations of Metal Work in Brass and Copper, Mostly South Indian' by Edgar Thurston, Velayuda Asari and W.S.Hadaway, published in 1913.
