A Sketch from Sketch Book No. 19 10903 Nandalal Bose Pencil on postcard

×
In this postcard, Nandalal sketches the various poses and heads of mythical birds, rendered in dark and solid lines, defining the contours of the ornamental creatures. As per the inscription, these drawings have been reproduced from the book, "The Paintings in the Buddhist Cave Temples of Ajanta" by John Griffiths (a British artist who worked in India during the 19th-20th century), published in two volumes in 1896.
