Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. The above composition by the artist is a perceptible representation of an Egyptian war scene, depicting flying arrows, a war wagon in the background, two horses in the foreground and an archer with an aim, kneeling on the floor, filled with action.
